5 times John Scott stole the show at NHL All-Star Media Day

NASHVILLE- After all the controversy, after all the confusion, John Scott is finally an All-Star. Fresh from Newfoundland, Scott entered NHL All-Star media with a big smile on his face, ready to fully embrace the experience. He laughed with the press, spoke candidly about the NHL and was basically the best thing about the round robin of interviews.

Here are his five best moments from today.

1. John Scott talks about Gary Bettman

Kicking off his media session, Scott candidly said that he met with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and the two had a “quick talk” welcoming him to the game.

“I think he was worried about me not feeling welcome here,” Scott said. “He just said, ‘we’re happy you’re here, we wanted you to be here and just go and have fun and our support is behind you.'”

It’s no secret the league didn’t want Scott here, despite the fan vote, and even tried to talk Scott out of attending. But, now that Scott is finally here in Nashville, he has the league’s full support.

2. John Scott chirps Patrick Kane

Talking to the press, Scott took a minute to chirp good friend and Blackhawks All-Star Patrick Kane about their possible meeting in the 3-on-3 tournament.

To be clear, Scott was kidding.

3. He signed a baby

Who wouldn’t want their baby signed by the man of the hour?

4.Turned the tables on the media

Scott knows he’s in a unique position right now, likely to never be on as big a stage again. And he made sure to enjoy it.

5. Crashed Taylor Hall’s NHL Network interview

Gotta love this guy. We’re only one day into the weekend and he’s already at the top of the list for NHL All-Star MVP.
